Expanding The Role Of Architects

The work of architects spans and interacts, giving architects endless relationships, associations, and responsibilities. From the big scale regional and urban planning to the smallest scale housing design. Architects are involved in everything, from design and construction, to management and administration.
Architecture is not exclusive for privileged people or affluent communities instead for needy people and vulnerable communities. Correlate with humanity and wellbeing.
Our goal is to achieve paradigm shift in the Built environment nationwide. Our areas of influence not least to:
1- Investing in young creative minds, Fledgling architects, designers through training, capacity building and continuous improvements programs.
2- Community development: Education, Health service and social welfare.
3- Transforming the built environment by adopting green architecture and affordable renewable energy.
4- Raising awareness of most prevailing challenges facing building industry and the profession.
5- Social Justice and equal rights.


The forum is an event where project-based open discussions for (students work, competitions work, future and/or completed individuals or consultants projects).

What we do?

Our events are held with topics ranging from housing, planning, and urban design, to transportation and landscape

Instimble ideas, innovative solutions and co-creative methods were well sorted-out to be presented in everytime consecutive programs and events.

Our objective is to raise concerns and create a buzz around the most pressing architectural issues.

In order to encourage creative solutions to the problems that face the built environment we customise certain INITIATIVES that include short term and long term programs.

Who We Are

Sudan Architecture Forum is an open platform established in 2013 with the first Forum under the name “Potter Forum”. SAF as an independent, non-profit, non-discriminatory body aims to have an impact on the built environment in Sudan by highlighting the most pressing issues of architecture today with a focus on architecture in Sudan and supporting high impact initiatives concentrating on the built environment. SAF is a registered non-profit company with guarantee, with five board members who are the founders of SAF.
